Our latest episode of The Bus Inspectors podcast will drop on Boxing Day, just in time for those long 'in-between' days...
Episode 4 will feature an update from the project to list, score and grade the nation's historic buses, run by the National Association of Road Transport Museums, which has seen The Bus Inspectors working on ten major UK collections so far.
We'll hear how grading works in other parts of the heritage sector, including railways. Tim Hedley-Jones, Executive Director of the Railway Heritage Trust explains how grading signal boxes, for example, has helped to prioritise funding to save and restore the most significant examples.
We'll also discuss the many challenges in preserving 21st century buses and coaches, more complex than their forebears, with the thoughts of FoKAB Chairman James Freeman and enthusiast, journalist and vlogger Maxson Goh. Plus, we'll consider whether it will be possible to preserve today's electric buses in the future, with the help of Stefan Baguette from Alexander Dennis.
Also in Episode 4... could the Dennis Dart be the most significant bus design of all time?
All to be discussed in our latest podcast, launching at 9am on Boxing Day. Catch up on the series so far below, or listen here to the episodes in full.
